Dr Bruce Chard

Owner / Manager / Veterinarian

Bruce is the owner of North Harbour Veterinary Clinic. He first came to the North Shore in 1978 and set up practice in Browns Bay. He developed the existing building on this site in 1988. Bruce works full time in the practice coordinating time away from work with Geoff and Andrea.

Dr Nicholas Smith

Veterinarian

Nick graduated in NZ in 2003. He worked as a mixed animal vet on the east coast before heading overseas and transitioning to small animals. He returned to NZ in 2011 and completed a stint of emergency work while also doing a postgraduate degree in veterinary clinical work. Nick likes anything he can do on his little red boat (including fishing and diving) and also enjoys America ‘low n slow’ style BBQ when he has the time.

Dr Zaineb Rashid

Veterinarian

Zaineb trained to be a vet in her hometown of Bagdad. After graduating her first job was at Bagdad zoo – her favourite animals were the lion cubs! She then moved to New Zealand with her husband who is also a vet. Zaineb did a postgraduate degree in clinical studies at Massey University. From 2003 Zaineb worked at mixed practice in Mosgiel where she was responsible for the small animals. In 2013 Zaineb moved to Auckland to be closer to her grandchildren and has since been working as a locum vet. Zaineb is passionate about small animals (especially cats) and loves looking after her grandchildren.

Veterinary Nurse

Christine joined us in 2018 and has over six years experience as a Veterinary Nurse. She has a National Diploma in Veterinary Nursing which she gained in New Zealand after spending many years living in Switzerland. Christine has a daughter who is studying at university and is kept busy with a very bouncy cavoodle
